Kyle Looking "Stylish" on a PW50! |
About
Kyle...
I was born on April 18, 1983 in Vinton, Louisiana. My first race was in 1988 at Rio Bravo MX Park on a PW 50. I got my 60cc bike in 1990, and went to the Ponca City Nationals in 1992 placing 6th. I moved up to the 80cc class in 1993.
My career seemed to get more serious at this point. I had some top five finishes at the
Florida Winter Olympics, and qualified for Loretta Lynn's twice.
|
In 1996 I moved from Louisiana to Houston. During my 125 and 250 Intermediate career I went to Loretta Lynn's twice, Mammoth Mountain, Hangtown, Glen Helen, Lake Whitney and Mossier Valley. My Intermediate career was a productive one.
I attended many schools from great instructors such as; Donnie Hansen, Larry Morton, and Billy Whitley. The schools taught me a lot as a racer and helped me to become a better instructor. In 1999, I won eight
of nine PJ1 amateur Arenacross main events. Turning Professional shortly after my
Arenacross wins; I qualified for the Ft. Worth Arenacross main event out of my first heat. |

At 16 years old I raced the Houston Supercross and finished seventh in the 250 Semi, missing the main by two.
The night before the Houston Supercross I got to sign autographs with team Kawasaki at the Highlands Kawasaki open house. The next year I rode for Lyle Lovette Motorsports. My best finish was a sixth in the 250 semi at Dallas, I missed the main by one or two spots many times.
That year I got to sign autographs with team Yamaha at the Lyle Lovette open house. Signing autographs next to Ricky Carmichael one year and Jeremy McGrath the next was definitely a highlight in my career. |
| Injuries really set me back over the next couple of years. Things would start looking up, another injury would occur. During practice at Ponca City in 2003, Tommy Hahn and I collided severely dislocating my wrist bones. Doctors told me no more riding for a long time. Tough times followed and walking away from the sport all together crossed my mind. While I was attending college, a few people approached me and asked if I would give them lessons. After giving my first few lessons I realized how much I loved teaching.
Teaching is as much of a challenge and enjoyment as racing. This past year I have given many lessons to people in the Houston area and hope to keep moving forward. I took a little time off of teaching to race the nationals and
was pleased with the support I received. Maestro Suzuki gave me the chance of a life time and I am thankful. I need to thank Jeff Edwards,
Randall at Pro Works and everyone at K's Motorsports for the opportunity
to race the outdoor nationals in 2005. |
I need
to thank Highlands Kawasaki for my current support and all the help
throughout my amateur and pro career. My goal is that NX
Level will open a new chapter in my motocross career.
I am ready to give back to the sport
that has given so much to me! |
